Job Purpose The Athletics Department at Towson University is accepting applications for a Tiger Athletic Fund Graduate Intern to work daily with the Tiger Athletic Fund, a comprehensive fund-raising organization that provides resources to support Athletics programs at Towson University.
Description The Tiger Athletic Fund Graduate Intern will assist the Director of Annual Giving for Athletics in the execution of the department's solicitation calendar; assist in development and implementation of Tiger Athletic Fund events, including hospitality offered to donors at home football and basketball games. Maintain a Tiger Athletic Fund events calendar that includes promotion deadlines across available mediums (i.e. print, web, and social media); coordinate activities along with Tiger Athletic Fund annual campaign efforts; serve as the Tiger Athletic Fund contact for sport-specific reunions and fundraisers; work directly with coaches setting up registration pages and a communication plan. Manage all donor stewardship activities including thank you mailings to donors, fulfilling membership benefits and keeping inventory of Tiger Athletic Fund donor gifts; work scheduled games and events as required by the Tiger Athletic Fund; provide administrative support to development staff and help manage office logistics. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and experience working in Athletics. Excellent organization and communication skills and knowledge of computer applications; ability to utilize multiple mediums (i.e. print, web, and social media) to market events and communicate information; respect for sensitive and confidential information; a strong commitment to service. Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines; work enthusiastically and with a sense of urgency and have a willingness to travel.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment. Salary and Benefits $9.25 per hour and a contract that offers annual leave, holidays, sick days. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage. The position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
