The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is offering a Graduate Assistant opportunity within the football strength and conditioning unit. The position will assist the staff with the administration of strength and conditioning functions for student-athletes participating in the intercollege athletics football program. The position is a 12 month appointment offering a tuition waiver and room & board stipend. Responsibilities Include: • Assist the strength and conditioning staff with the oversight of the football strength and conditioning program. • Assist in the design and implementation of specific strength and conditioning programs that facilitate maximum benefits for student-athletes including individualized, comprehensive and year-round programs. • Assist in the supervision and instruction of all aspects of weight training, conditioning and nutrition. • Collaborate with coaches and athletic training staff on the overall conditioning, rehabilitation and welfare of student-athletes. • Design and maintain student-athlete records and monitor progress of training programs. • Oversee general activities in weight room and assist other staff members as needed. • Supervise weight room facilities to insure a safe and functional environment. • Maintain certifications and continue further education in the field of strength, speed and conditioning. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director for Strength and Conditioning and/or the Director of Strength and Conditioning.

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC)
First aid, AED and CPR certification
Experience in the strength and conditioning development of student-athletes or participation as a collegiate student-athlete, preferably at the Division I level
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
