The University of Akron, A Division I (FBS) institution and a member of the Mid-American Conference is looking to hire a Spirit Team Assistant Coach.
Responsibilities: • Assist Head Spirit Team Coach with scheduling, fundraising, appearances, recruiting, tryouts, travel and equipment needs • Work home football games and limited away games • Work home men's and women's basketball games and other events as requested • Guide participants towards proper technique for conditioning, tumbling, stunting, mounting, etc. • Assist in choreographing dance routines
Requirements: • A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of (2) two years collegiate cheerleading experience and/or a minimum of two years of collegiate cheerleading coaching experience • Ability to work well with administrators, colleagues, coaches and students • Ability to spot both male and female tumblers with a range of abilities • Minimum of one year cheerleading supervisory experience preferred
