Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) located in northwest Ohio, seeks an Assistant Football Coach with a strong background in strength and conditioning. The individual will assist the head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and development and will support the planning and directing of all functions of the football program.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to strength & conditioning, overall student-athlete instruction, coaching, recruiting and on-campus visit planning, game and practice planning, budget management, fundraising and student-athlete performance. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting the mission of Defiance College, as well as adherence to institutional, HCAC, and NCAA policies and procedures.
A bachelor’s degree, previous coaching experience, and a valid driver’s license are required; master’s degree preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate strong communication skills, successful Division III recruiting experience, and the ability to be a positive role model for student-athletes. This is a full-time, 10-month position (August 1-May 31) with a July 16 start date this first year.
