Director of Digital Media
Required Qualifications (as evidence by an attached resume): Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full-time video production and graphic design experience. Experience utilizing publication design software (i.e. PageMaker, PhotoShop, InDesign, etc).
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience with video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Avid). Experience in live event production for video boards and/or webcasting/television. Prior game-day management experience for athletic contests. Previous website maintenance experience. Previous social media experience. Previous experience in a college athletic department setting. Previous Division I experience. Previous experience supervising professional or student staff.
Brief Description of Duties: The Director of Digital Media will be responsible for all Department of Athletics video and graphic design projects/initiatives. This includes creating and producing live event productions (ESPN3, America East TV, and CAA Football). Additional duties include marketing and fundraising videos, videos for all the Stony Brook sport programs and promotional videos. The selected candidate will require strong communication skills.
• Responsible for the oversight of the athletics department’s video and graphic design, which will serve as lead content for GoSeawolves.org and the department’s social media outlets. This includes creating a digital identity that is consistent with the department's brand. Overseeing the Get Your RED On Minute, weekly football highlight packages during the fall, highlight packages for men’s & women’s basketball home games during the winter, generating promo videos for all sports, generating video and editing it for the end-of-year department highlight video, generating and editing video content to be used for fundraising and marketing efforts, etc. Will also help in the execution of live production events that are webcast through the America East Digital Network. • Responsible for producing marketing and fundraising material including, but not limited to, schedule posters, golf outing brochures, website ads and splash pages. These projects are in support of departmental events, team fundraising efforts, athletic contests, team promotions and various other fundraising initiatives. • The incumbent will be responsible for creating sport specific film cuts and videos for the sport programs on an annual basis. The football program annual video will be an annual task for the incumbent and other videos at the direction of the Assistant AD for Athletic Communications. • Other duties as assigned as determined by rank and department missions.
Special Notes: This is a full time appointment. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Night and weekend work may be required.
