Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is seeking qualified candidates for Associate Director of Sports Medicine. The position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine.
Primary Medical Coverage for Football
Direct supervision of Asst. Athletic Trainer and Certified Intern Athletic Trainer
Assists the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine with the provision of athletic training services including prevention, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for 16 intercollegiate sports and spirit squads.
Assist the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine in the supervision of the Athletic Training Room
Coordinate health care with team physicians
Report the status of injured student athletes to coaching staff
Assist with yearly scheduling and administration of student-athlete physical exams and testing
Provide first aid and emergency care for athletic related injuries
Provides coverage with home and away events
Medical and Insurance record keeping
Maintain inventory and supplies
Recruiting and supervising of student trainers
May include teaching duties
Compliance with all NCAA, Sunbelt Conference and institutional rules
Assist in other duties as assigned by the Asst AD/Sports Medicine
Bachelor's degree (Master preferred) from a regionally accredited institution
Current NATABOC certification
Current CPR/AED certification
Current Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Athletic Training Licensure (or eligible for licensure)
Minimum of 3 years of primary football experience in providing athletic training services at NCAA Division I university preferred.
