The University of Connecticut football strength program seeks to hire two or more interns for Spring 2019. The goal of our program is to provide an encompassing view of collegiate strength and conditioning, including programming, exercise technique and facility upkeep. This is an unpaid opportunity to gain real world coaching experience. Aside from the daily duties required of the position there will be assigned readings and projects to further the development of your knowledge base. The goal of this internship is for you to develop the needed experience and skill to make you a stronger candidate in taking the next step in your coaching career (i.e. becoming a graduate assistant coach). Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills.
Qualifications: In pursuit of or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in an exercise science related field. Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting, as a coach or athlete. If not already certified, you are expected to be in pursuit of your CSCS or CSCCa certification.
Compensation: This is an unpaid position with no housing or meal assistance. Internship credit hours may be obtained.
Internship Term: January 16, 2019 – April 26, 2019
