Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training
Orthopaedics is growing the Sports Medicine Division and will be working with The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) to provide athletic training services for local sports teams in the training room and on the field.
Manages the direct oversight of medical coverage, care and wellness specifically for the UTSA football program and other UTSA athletic sport programs as needed
Responsible for supporting the UTSA Director of Sports Medicine and health care team in the oversight and management of providing medical coverage and support for the delivery of an integrated health care system to UTSA student-athletes.
Provide daily instruction and specific work assignments related to pre-practice, practice, post-practice and athletic team competition needs to full-time and student athletic trainers.
Management duties include employee interviewing, selection, training, performance reviews, counseling, discipline and termination.
Provides supervision, education, assessment, treatment and preventative services for athletic related injuries and illnesses to assigned student-athletes, coaching staff and members of the Athletic Department.
Oversees athletic training services at sponsored sporting and community events.
Serves as liaison between the injured athlete, sports medicine physician and physical/occupational therapist.
Master's Degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology or related field is required.
