The University of Dayton Athletics Division is accepting applications for the Coordinator of External Services and Engagement Internship. This is an entry-level, full time, benefit eligible 12-month position. The University of Dayton Athletics Internship program is designed to expose the highly-motivated individual to all aspects of a Division I athletic program. Strong performers have the opportunity to be considered for permanent positions within the division if and when they become available. The successful candidate will rotate through experiences designed to give interns real-world experience with the broad range of disciplines within intercollegiate athletics. This position is distinguished by comprehensive training, mentor assignments, networking opportunities and funding to attend leadership and professional development throughout the internship.
The Coordinator of External Services and Engagement Intern will develop strategies to promote awareness and attendance through grass roots and social media marketing mediums, assist in video and content creation, and directly oversee game day production for men’s and women’s soccer as well as softball and baseball. The successful candidate will coordinate these efforts and become fully integrated into the greater strategies and planning of the external department.
This position will collaborate with all areas of external affairs (ticket office, marketing, media relations, and development) with the execution of awareness and attendance strategies. They will coordinate community relations programs such as autograph sessions, attendance at community events and grassroots efforts to promote University of Dayton Athletic events. They will learn to support the video and content editing department by participating in and assisting with the coordination of individual and team photo and video production shoots.
Additionally, this position will provide game day support for all volleyball, football, and men’s and women’s basketball, and post-season game day operations related to game presentation and corporate fulfillment, but the primary role is to support sports other than men’s basketball.

Required qualifications include: a Bachelor’s Degree, one year equivalent of part-time experience in the arena of intercollegiate or professional athletics (teams, professional organizations, sports media companies, firms related to athletics), must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
Preferred qualifications include: Successful experience with a collegiate sport, as a student-athlete, manager, coach or related role; successful experience in an NCAA Division I athletic department in the sphere or marketing, game operations, sales, or event management; successful experience operating a video camera at a live event, successful experience with basic graphic design templates and components.
