Coordinator of Athletics Facilities & Event Management
Job Purpose Towson University is accepting applications for a Coordinator of Athletics Facilities and Event Management. This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of Towson University Athletic Facilities, to include the Towson Center, SECU Arena, Unitas Stadium, Soccer complex, Baseball complex, Softball complex, Field Hockey complex, tennis courts, and all TU athletic practice fields. Under general direction coordinates and communicates to coaches and appropriate staff information regarding the use of all athletics facilities.
Assist with the management of all indoor and outdoor athletic facilities including the Towson University Athletic Facilities, to include the Towson Center, SECU Arena, Unitas Stadium, Soccer complex, Baseball complex, Softball complex, Field Hockey complex, tennis courts, and all TU athletic practice fields.
Assist in the event management of football, men's basketball, gymnastics, and men's lacrosse. Direct responsibility for the event management of field hockey, cross country, women's soccer, women's basketball, baseball, track and field, swimming and diving, and softball. This includes supervision of student/contractual staff, event set-up/breakdown, crowd control, and other administrative duties.
Oversee hiring, training, and scheduling of student building managers.
Oversee the ordering and distribution of credentials for athletic events.
Assists with the management of various facility projects spanning both indoor and outdoor venues.
Serve as liaison with scoreboard vendor. This includes maintenance and training for operating scoreboards.
Assists with equipment purchases while ensuring appropriate procurement procedures are followed.
Assist the Assistant Director for Athletics Facilities Management with scheduling of fields and facilities.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience. Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills are necessary to be effective in this position. Ability to work independently and be an effective team member. Must be able to lift and move objects, possibly over 50 lbs. Occasional nights and weekends. Preferred working knowledge of scheduling and handling of sports events. Experience working in intercollegiate athletics within the Facilities and/or Events realm. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
