Job Purpose The Tiger Athletic Fund (TAF) serves as the fundraising arm for the Towson University Athletic Department and is responsible for prospecting, cultivating and soliciting stakeholders to enhance the student-athlete experience here at TU. We are searching for a qualified individual to fill our full-time position as our team's Graduate Intern. This role is vital to the success of our department and is instrumental in the cultivation aspect of fundraising.
Description The Tiger Athletic Fund Intern assists the Director of Development for Annual Giving in the execution of the department's solicitation calendar.Duties will include managing the TAF stewardship process, analyzing donor statistics and trends, assisting head coaches to run efficient fundraising events, supervising TU student interns, providing marketing insights and ideas, as well as being the primary facilitator of TAF donor hospitality during the football and men's basketball seasons. Assists in development and implementation of Tiger Athletic Fund events including hospitality offered to donors at home football and basketball games. Maintains a Tiger Athletic Fund events calendar that includes promotion deadlines across available mediums (i.e. print, web, and social media); coordinate activities along with Tiger Athletic Fund annual campaign effort. Serves as the Tiger Athletic Fund contact for sport-specific reunions and fundraisers. Work directly with coaches setting up registration pages and a communication plan. Manages all donor stewardship activities including thank you mailings to donors, fulfilling membership benefits, and keeping inventory of Tiger Athletic Fund donor gifts. Works scheduled games and events as required by the Tiger Athletic Fund. Provides administrative support to development staff and help manage office logistics.
Qualifications This is a post-graduate opportunity for those who have received a Bachelor's Degree. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and independently, strong customer service skills, and a positive attitude. A background in event management or college athletics is a plus.
Should the TAF Graduate Intern wish to further their education while serving in this role, they may do so, as long as course work does not affect work performance or takes away from in-office mandatory hours.
A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
Salary and Benefits $11.00 per hour and a contract that offers annual leave, holidays, sick days. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage. The position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
