Kansas Athletics, Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for a Director of Football Communications. This position will work closely with the Associate AD for Communications and Creative to develop and implement the overall communication strategy for Kansas Football. This position will serve as point of contact for the head coach working to share his vision with the media. Additionally, the Director of Communications will need to prep talking points, help prepare for press conferences, assist with public appearances and events, draft and/or edit public comments, coordinate interviews and other duties as requested by the head coach. Travel will be required.
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; • Minimum five years of experience in the Athletic Media Relations or related field. • Working knowledge of the following social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines and work effectively with frequent interruptions. • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and solutions focused approach to challenges and improvements. • Ability to work well both independently and in collaboration with staff as a team member. • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred: • Workplace experience oversee and/or supervising full-time staff • Working knowledge of Adobe, Photoshop and Illustrator
