Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and a Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire an individual for the full-time position of Director of Student-Athlete Career Development. This is a 12-month, full-time position. This position will report directly to the Associate AD. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA and the NCAA. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs. •Create a multi-year development program including but not limited to: personal skills, inclusion, career and professional development, community service and leadership •Primary goal is to provide each football player with an opportunity to be gainfully employed after graduation. •Organize career-related services and programs for student-athletes, which enhance personal and career development •Monitor attendance at career events and programs •Orchestrate life skill seminars and workshops for football student-athletes and eventually all student-athletes •Identify opportunities and coordinate all community outreach requests for the football program and staff members •Meet one-on-one with student-athletes to provide career development guidance and monitor the fulfillment of the required career checklist •Coordinate and execute networking and mentoring initiatives among current student-athletes and alumni while maintaining an up-to-date alumni database •Implement and facilitate leadership development sessions with sport programs •Coordinate resources to be added weekly to the Hilltopper Network website •Serve as a staff advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) •Serve as athletics liaison to the Advising and Career Development Center on campus, which includes having student-athletes participate in career fairs and job interviews Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success: •Knowledge of NCAA rules. •Must be self-motivated and team-oriented. •Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. •Experience with Microsoft Office products. •Must be willing and able to flexible hours, including work evenings and weekends. •The duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed in a competent manner following the highest standards for leadership, professionalism, integrity, accountability, responsibility, cooperation and customer service.
