Essential Functions:

Directs the planning & execution, as lead game manager, for assigned athletic contests & special events

Assists with the execution of home Football gamedays: facility setup, equipment inventory, management of part-time/student staff, gate/concourse supervision, liaison for assigned entities

Serves as the facility point-of-contact & manages upkeep/cleanliness of assigned athletic facilities

Acts as the lead tournament manager for assigned NCAA & ACC championship competitions

Schedules & organizes necessary event-related personnel – event staff, scoreboard operators, video review technicians, ball people, etc. – to ensure successful game management experience

Serves as point-of-contact for visiting teams, game officials, NCAA/ACC officials, other game personnel

Develops visiting team guides, manuals, educational materials for assigned sports Acts as scheduler for department using EMS software for athletic facilities & spaces for meetings, special events, practices & competitions

Oversees walkthrough metal detector fleet & secures additional parts as necessary

Manages assigned sport-related budgets & performs clerical financial tasks

Coordinates with on-campus & off-campus partners to ensure successful gameday experience

Reports any potential NCAA/ACC violations to Sr. Assoc. AD, Athletic Event & Facility Operations

Other Functions:

Assists with creation of printed & digital customer service & fan-educational materials

Assists with security-related polies & procedures; i.e., clear bag policy & metal detection

Oversees assigned departmental inventory items

Leads Event & Facility Operations Assistants (2) & manages student workers (10)

Assists with event-related COVID-19 mitigation strategies

Serves on Wake Forest, NCAA, ACC committees as requested

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• One Year of Full-Time Related Experience
• General Knowledge of All NCAA/ACC Competition Guidelines Related to Game Management
• Ability to Perform Medium Work: Exerting Up-To 50lbs of Force Occasionally and/or 20lbs Frequently and/or 10lbs Constantly to Move Objects; Subject to Inside & Outside Environmental Conditions; Subject to Extreme Heat & Cold; Subject to Hazards & Atmospheric Conditions; Subject to Oils; Exposed to Infectious Diseases
• Strong Communication, Organizational, Customer-Service, Verbal, Writing Skills
• Excellent Computer Skills in Microsoft Office & Google
• Ability to Work Evenings, Weekends & Holidays
• Ability to Meet the Requirements of the University’s Automobile Insurance Policy

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Master’s Degree
• Two to Three Years of Full-Time Related Experience
• Previous Experience with a Power 5 Collegiate Event & Facility Operations Department

Accountabilities:

Assists with providing instruction, direction and problem-solving assistance to Event & Facility Operations temporary staff. Supervises all gameday staff, volunteers and student workers.
