Illinois Wesleyan University, a NCAA Division III institution and member of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin, invites applications for the full-time, 11-month position of Head Athletic Trainer. Will include travel, evening and weekend hours. Generous benefits include health, retirement and tuition assistance.
Supervisor and Head Athletic Trainer Role; work with Director of Athletic Training Services to coordinate injury prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation programs; coordinate injury and treatment records for the ATR, as well as physician groups; Work with insurance companies for claims and coverage; Coordinate with ISU on the supervision and evaluation of professional graduate assistant staff and the care of their specific teams
Administration; order and inventory all supplies needed for services; work with Athletic Director and Director of Athletic Training Services on budget analysis; coordinate assistant athletic trainers and the coverage of all practices and games; perform performance review of professional staff; write and administer written policies in regard to health and safety protocols for athletes
Additional coordination and communication responsibilities; Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment; work with department on mental health initiatives; attend meetings on behalf of department; responsible for coordinating and teaching CPR classes to Athletic Department staff; communicate with CCIW staff and committees; staying involved and engaged with policies that the NCAA is implementing; submit and make recommendations to NCAA on policy changes in regard to care for student-athletes.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree required
- Minimum of five years’ experience; three to five year’s experience in football preferred
- ATC certified; Licensure in Illinois
- Knowledge of current healthcare practices and experience in personnel management
- CPR/AED Instructor certification
- Valid Driver’s License
