James Madison University is accepting applications for a Director of Creative Media for Football. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.
This position will report directly to the Head Football Coach with a dotted line to the Assistant A.D. for Creative Services & Fan Engagement.
Works to promote JMU Football with cutting edge vision and creativity through multi-media productions.
The individual in this position will display a commitment to JMU Football, Athletics Department, and the university’s brand.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Brand and implement all football department graphics/videos, while promoting the recruitment of student-athletes and marketing for the program.
- Weekly collaboration with the JMU Creative Services & Fan Engagement and Athletics Communications units on content ideas and creation – including but not limited to social media, video board content, game day needs.
- Enforce brand consistency and placement in regards to logo and color usage for the football program.
- Deliver cutting-edge design visuals for use in print, online, marketing, and other materials.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with Duke Club, athletics communications, and university staff, student athletes, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, as well as at least three plus years working with graphics/video.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Product Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, lnDesign, Adobe After Effects, and/or other compositing and graphic design software.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in graphic design software, sports terminology, sports writing, photo editing, and video editing.
- Requires strong artistic and graphics skills. Must have a strong eye and a high aesthetic for graphic and interactive design, typography, photography, videography, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and love for the sport.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to adapt to ever-changing workloads and deadlines while being able to work well within the team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a Division 1 football program or professional team.
