Southern Arkansas University, a NCAA Division II member institution and member of the Great American Conference (GAC) is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Football Coach (Defense) / Instructor in the Human Performance and Sport Sciences department. Candidates will be expected to be in full compliance of the University, NCAA and GAC regulations.
Duties: support the head coach in all phases of a highly competitive program including but not limited to: working directly with the Head Coach in formulating game plans and scouting opponents; implementing the weekly game plan pertaining to defense; setting film review of practices and games; show a sincere interest in the development of student-athletes; responsible for discipline and mentoring the players on defense; teach part-time in the Human Performance and Sport Sciences department and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Master’s degree required in related field; teaching experience in related field; demonstrate evidence of successful experience in coaching; record of success in collegiate and/or interscholastic coaching; effective communication, excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong attention to detail; knowledge of HUDL, Vizio, Excel and Word; be willing to work tirelessly and cohesively with the entire coaching staff and the administration of the university; interpersonal skills and commitment to total success of students.
