Job Overview The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Associate To the Athletic Director. This is a full-time position, salaried, with a comprehensive benefits package.
Reporting to the Athletic Director, the position is responsible for the planning and coordination of a myriad of day-to-day administrative functions while following University of Cincinnati and departmental policies, NCAA Division I, and Conference bylaws and regulations. The successful candidate will exemplify the utmost professionalism while handling executive matters that require confidentiality, sound judgement and independent thinking.
Essential Functions
Perform administrative staff functions for the Athletic Director, frequently of a confidential nature, concerning administrative activities of substantial complexity.
Recommend the development of operating policies and procedures, advise and assist the Athletic Director in policy and strategy formulation.
Manage the Athletic Director’s calendar. Schedule meetings, speaking engagements, and special events.
Plan and coordinate travel. Process expense reports.
Prepare responses to inquiries. Liaison to support units and triage public inquiries appropriately.
Maintain liaison with designated unit directors and administrators, as well as external offices, agencies and donors to ensure conformity to external policies and procedures.
Prepare memos, speeches, and position statements, as required.
Represent designated administrator, as needed, with moderate authority to make commitments on administrative policies and procedures.
May provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e. hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
Three (3) years' experience in a related field. Experience may require one (1) year supervision.
Some positions may require experience in university administration.
Additional Qualifications Considered Basic knowledge of college athletics administration and NCAA regulations.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
