Chief of Staff – Director of Football Operations The Chief of Staff (COS) will serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external constituencies on all operational functions of the football program. The COS will provide support for the head football coach in the areas of scheduling and creation of calendars, budget management, travel, fundraising, and programmatic community outreach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategic management of the Gridiron Club. The primary role of the Gridiron Club is to drive fund raising dollars/donations specific to football and our day-to-day operations in conjunction with the Bears Club. The COS will be the point person in garnering renewals of current members along with generating new membership and new revenue. This includes the arrangement of hospitality events and our annual spring golf outing as well as other approved activities.
Organization and implementation of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly operational calendars.
Composing correspondence and communication with current student athletes and incoming student athletes in the areas of scheduling, housing, scholarships, and medical documentation.
Managing and coordination of clear communication between campus administrators, Bears Club / Gridiron Club, athletics staff, and LR football alumni as well as building relationships critical to the success of the program.
In conjunction with the head football coach planning and managing detailed travel itineraries and team meals.
Provide support with all team social media including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
Manage, coordinate, and track (Helper/Helper) community outreach for the football program.
In conjunction with the football staff, serve as the academic liaison between players/coaches and LR academic support services across campus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to team effectively with staff, recruits, alumni, and donors
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines, while working independently as well as collaboratively, in a flexible professional manner.
Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office products as well as have a working knowledge of ARMs software.
Functional knowledge of social media platforms: Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook
Education: Have a bachelor's degree from a four-year, accredited institution
Preferences: A minimum of 1-2 years' experience working within an intercollegiate athletics department, professional sports organization and or other sporting institution.
Other requirements:
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must pass a background check.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
