The Iowa State University Athletics Department has an opening for a creative video coordinator who will support the Cyclone football program.
- Collaborate with the creative team on the vision to enhance the Iowa State Football brand through recruiting, social media & various team/student-athlete marketing campaigns
- Develops storyboards, scripts, and visuals to create dynamic, current and memorable video content for recruiting weekends/evenings
- Film team functions, games, practices and workouts; log footage; help maintain organized video archive
- Identify best practices to assist the football program with social platforms and trends
- Attend recruiting meetings, practices & all football related activities
- Create presentations & visuals for coaching staff
- Ensure brand consistency and uniformity in regards to logo and color usage
- Work with the football creative team as an additional art director for photo shoots during recruiting visits
- Assist with development of social media branding and aesthetics plan for each season
- Help Iowa State Football remain current with emerging trends in social media and assist in monitoring team social media accounts
- Track the latest innovations in camera equipment and software
- Cultivate, lead, and manage the student videographer team
- Responsible for adhering to the rules and regulations of the department, University, Big 12 Conference and NCAA
Candidates require strong artistic and video skills to create and produce compelling video to drive engagement on social/digital media. Must excel in project management, problem solving and effective communication. Requires the ability work in a fast paced, demanding environment with the flexibility to change and adapt project specifications regularly. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body and staff.
This position requires the ability to move and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds, work outdoors and have the ability to stand, kneel, sit or bend to take the best video and still photos. Must be able to work many non-traditional hours and weekends and requires overnight travel with the team.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience creating and editing professional quality video content from start (shooting footage) to finish (final edit using music, footage and graphic elements) for sports.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience collaborating with football coaching staffs on pre-season, in-season and off-season collegiate recruiting content.
Videography experience using professional video equipment, including ENG, DSLR and cinema style cameras, as well as a broad knowledge of audio and lighting set-up.
Experience producing compelling and creative video for various social media platforms.
